Local businesses donate to United Way this weekend
COSHOCTON – In light of recent events, shopping local seems that much more important and this weekend, not only can you support our local business owners, but you can also support the United Way of Coshocton. Thirty local retailers will be donating a portion of their sales to the United Way from sales this weekend on Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24.
Studies show that for every dollar spent in a locally-owned business, 67% stays local whereas only 42% stays local if you shop in a big box store or chain. When we shop locally, just 10% of consumer spending to a locally-owned business would generate hundreds of thousands of dollars and create new jobs.
