Michael H. Bordenkircher
COSHOCTON – Michael Howard “Mike” Bordenkircher, 68, of Sleepy Hollow Dr., went home to be with his Lord on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born Dec. 24, 1946 in Coshocton to the late Howard Bordenkircher and Elizabeth (Benner) Bordenkircher Newell.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart medal during his service time. He was a longtime employee of AK Steel, where he worked as an inspector before his retirement. He was a Baptist by faith, and he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed photography, but mostly was a quiet and humble man, but was very gentle and loved by all who knew him. He was the foundation of his family; he was always looked to for answers and respected for his wisdom. As much as he will be missed, we know where he is, with his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Donna (Ackley) Bordenkircher of Coshocton, whom he married Dec. 31, 1965, two daughters; Terri (David) Nally of Millersburg, and Shelly (Kris) Wilson of Warsaw, twelve grandchildren; Michael (Stephanie) Williams, Tina (Jeremy) Moyer, Moriah Williams, Josiah (Tori) Williams, Katelyn Nally, Macie Nally, Monica Nally, Hannah Nally, Nathan Nally, Clayton (Deejay) Wilson, Samantha Wilson, and Staci D’Ostroph, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers; Ronald Bordenkircher and William Bordenkircher, both of Coshocton, a sister, Sally (Larry) Boal of Conesville, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Greg Bordenkircher, and a sister, Ridglae Kocher.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of West Lafayette, 688 E. Main St., with Pastor David Koehler officiating. A private burial will follow in Darling Run Cemetery near Warsaw, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Veterans Honor Guard. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
Michael’s family asks that in lieu of memorial donations, that a charitable gesture be made to a family in need this Christmas.
