RVHS swimmers hold senior night

COSHOCTON – On Thursday evening, Jan. 28, the River View Black Bears honored seniors Morgan Ashcraft, KJ Smailes, Tasha Johnson, Lisa Johansson, Josh Bigrigg, Bryar Cox, Jonathan Helmick, and Adam Croup in a ceremony prior to their match against Zanesville and John Glenn. Both the girls and boys varsity teams finished the night in first place overall while winning several events.

Shawna Shroyer won the 200 (2:37.73) and 50 (32.41) freestyle, KJ Smailes won the 400 free (6:13.20), and was third in the individual medley (3:24.44), Morgan Ashcraft won the 100 backstroke (1:32.99), Josie Fornara won the 100 free (1:14.68), and was second in the 200 IM (3:11.52), Kristian Meek won the 100 breaststroke (1:43.76), while Lisa Johansson was second (1:48.23), the 200 free relay group of Fornara, Kenzie Hudson, Molly Schlupp, and Shroyer was second (2:14.73), and the 400 free relay group of Fornara, Smailes, Ashcraft, and Shroyer was second (5:08.39)

For the boys, Josh Bigrigg won the 50 free (29.55), with RJ Hammond coming in second (29.77), Bryar Cox won the 100 back (1:23.95), with Adam Croup finishing fourth (1:44.37), Jonathan Helmick was second in the 100 free (1:03.38), Nate Cooper won the 100 free (1:02.51) and the 200 free (2:29.79), Caleb Fischer won the 100 butterfly (1:25.00) and the 100 breast (1:25.37), Dylan Harsh won the 400 free (5:42.35), while Xavier Lewis was second (6:15.51), the 200 medley relay group of Cox, Fischer, Cooper, and Helmick was first (2:11.99), as well as the 200 free relay group of Bigrigg, Cox, Hammond, and Helmick (1:54.95), and the 400 free relay of Helmick, Cox, Bigrigg, and Cooper (4:22.99).
