COSHOCTON – Seating was starting to become a premium at Alpha Bits & Bytes, but owner Adrian Padilla didn’t want to limit the fun times so he found a bigger location that he is excited to share with the community.

He recently moved his Sixth Street business to the old Fashion Bug building located between Rural King and Woodbury Outfitters on Second Street.

“We were running out of room at our tournaments and events,” Padilla said “We pushed 45 people at some of them and it was getting cramped. Something had to give. I spoke to the owner of this place and everything fell into place. This spot also doesn’t have the stigma of once being a bar. Even though I had shirts made saying, ‘not a bar’ people still thought we were one.”

The new location still is home to Padilla’s computer repair business and offers the same opportunities for playing video games, computer games and card games, but has much more seating and a stage, which will be used for band and lip sync battles, karaoke and more. He also hopes to add pool tables.

“I want to hold more public events here,” he said. “There aren’t a lot of places around for people who don’t want to drink to get together.”

The bigger space also will allow him the opportunity to offer class on how to operate computers and how to do coding for websites, programs and apps. Padilla also hopes to expand his food options with breakfast and a Spanish buffet.

Hours for the new Alpha Bits & Bytes on Second Street are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday; and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday. For more on what the business offers or to get details on events hosted there, call 740-575-4474.

“There are a lot of possibilities with this store and there is plenty of parking that is well lit,” Padilla said.
