Update on hit-and-run

Kristopher S. McCombCOSHOCTON – On February 3rd, 2016 the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a juvenile being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Upon arrival of emergency crews, 9 year old Steven Hebert II, who was injured in the crash, was transported to CCMH by CCEMS and flown from there to Nationwide Children’s Hospital by MedFlight Helicopter.

On February 5th, 2016 Steven was able to come home after surgery on his right leg and is resting comfortably at home.

On February 8th, 2016, an area man was held in the Coshocton County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges in reference to this crash.

The child’s mother, Jessica Hebert, expressed extreme gratitude to everyone involved in helping her son in his time of need and to the tipsters that gave vital information leading to the arrest.

On February 9th, 2016, Kristopher S. McComb, a 40 year old resident of Coshocton, was charged with Tampering with Evidence, a Felony of the 3rd degree. Additional charges are anticipated following review by The Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.

This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
