Rep Gibbs’ gives statement on president’s 2017 budget proposal

| February 9, 2016

WASHINGTON, DC – Following the announcement of President Obama’s budget proposal for 2017, Congressman Bob Gibbs released the following statement:

“Between the irresponsible increases in spending and the burdensome new energy taxes, the President slipped a provision into his budget proposal that will harm Lake Erie by permitting the Army Corps to circumvent the states’ legal authority under the Clean Water Act to protect the Great Lakes. By removing the section that prevents the Army Corps from disposing of dredge material in Lake Erie without approval from the state, President Obama is risking the health of the lake and the millions of people who rely on it.”
