Award-winning fashion designer to visit Coshocton
WEST LAFAYETTE – On Sunday, March 6, Madeline Gardner, an award-winning fashion designer with the Mori Lee Company, will be at Universe Bridal and Prom Store located at Unusual Junction in Coshocton County. Gardner designs bridal gowns, bridesmaids, and prom dresses for Mori Lee and the Paparazzi Prom division.
“We are so excited to have Madeline returning to Universe,” said Teri Misener, buyer at Universe Bridal and Prom. “Because of her busy schedule, she is not able to get out to many shops, so we are honored that Universe is one of the stores she is able to visit. It is rare to get to meet an award-winning designer from New York who’s been in this business for years.”
Misener says Gardner has been to Universe for visits in the past.
“Madeline loves to interact with the customers in the store and loves to see real girls in the dresses,” said Misener. “She is one of those hands-on designers who likes to be in touch with her customers and get their feedback on what they are looking for. She will take these ideas and suggestions back to her drawing board in New York as she is working on ideas now for the 2017 styles.”
Misener shares that the brides and prom dress shoppers love getting to meet Gardner.
“Many of the shoppers know her designs and may have chosen her dresses in the past, so getting to meet her is a real treat,” added Misener. “Madeline will be talking with the shoppers that day and will be available for photos as well.”
Universe Bridal and Prom Superstore was started in 1997 at the Unusual Junction Shopping and Dining Complex in West Lafayette. Growing from its beginning with just 10 wedding gowns, the store now boasts over 6,000 prom and special occasion dresses, 1,200 bridal gowns and hundreds of bridesmaid dresses. The store has continued to grow over the years and recently underwent yet another expansion and remodel. Each week the store sees shoppers from as far away as three and four hours drive.
Misener says that Universe has been carrying Madeline Gardner’s designs in the store for well over 20 years.
“She was one of the first designers we began with and we continue to have a huge representation in our store of Mori Lee dresses in bridal, bridesmaids and prom dresses,” she said. “Madeline’s designs even grace our billboards and many of our promotional materials. We truly love working with this designer and I hope lots of visitors come out to meet her here on March 6.”
Gardner will be at Universe Bridal and Prom from noon until 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 6. Universe is located at 56310 US Route 36 in West Lafayette.
