Commissioners moving forward with two requests
COSHOCTON – The Coshocton County Commissioners met March 2, and agreed to accept a petition from the Bedford Township Trustees.
The petition is for the vacation of the entire portion of Township Road 60A that has not already been vacated and is currently in abandoned status located in Bedford Township, Coshocton County, Ohio. The landowner requested this action and since the trustees had no objections and the commissioners agreed to it the next step will be for the commissioners to schedule a viewing and a public hearing.
The portion of the road being discussed is already in abandoned status and has not been being taken care of by the trustees. The steps being taken by the trustees and commissioners are just necessary formalities before the land owner can gate the road.
At their meeting the commissioners also:
- Received the dog warden’s report for the week ending Feb. 29, with six dogs picked up by the warden, two dogs brought in as strays, four dogs destroyed, 15 citations issued, 35 calls handled, nine dog licenses sold, three late fees paid, three dogs sold, five dogs redeemed, six dogs per owner surrender, $40 in boarding fees collected for a total of $484 in fees collected.
- Requested a motion to sign an addendum to the Integrated Public Alert Warning System (IPAWS) effective March 2, through April 8 in the amount of $1,500 with the cost for each successive year of this addendum commencing April 9, 2017 and continuing on each annual anniversary of the addendum renewal date thereafter, shall be $1,500 per year.
IPAWS is an upgrade to the CodeRED system and will allow EMA to reach each resident during a large-scale emergency through phone, Internet, e-mail, or television, regardless of whether or not they are signed up for the program.
