Timothy Myers to perform at Roscoe UMC

COSHOCTON – The Roscoe United Methodist Church music department is announced that Timothy Myers will be in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in the sanctuary.

His accompanist will be Deborah Yasutke. Roscoe UMC is located at 475 High St. (near Roscoe Village). For information, call 740-622-7780 during regular business hours. The program will be posted on the church website at roscoeumchurch.org.

Myers grew up in the Coshocton area, was a member of RUMC and graduate of River View School. He and Yasutke will also be in concert in the Stewart Room of the Randall Campus Center at Malone University, 2600 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton, at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30.

Myers has held the Mr. and Mrs. William R. Orthwein Principal Trombone Chair of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra since 1997. He first joined the SLSO in 1983. He has performed as a soloist with the Saint Louis Symphony and the Aspen Music Festival. Myers has also performed with the Chicago Symphony, the Boston Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony, the Minnesota Orchestra, Summit Brass, and the Bay Brass. He is a founding member of the Trombones of the Saint Louis Symphony and is co-founder of the Saint Louis Low Brass Collective. He has taught at the Aspen Music Festival, the University of Missouri at Columbia and currently teaches trombone at Washington University in Saint Louis. A graduate of Northwestern University, Myers studied with Frank Crisafulli.

Yasutake is an active collaborative pianist in the Akron/Cleveland area. She is a staff accompanist at the University of Akron and has also worked as a collaborative pianist at Northwestern University, the University of Michigan and Kent State University. She has been a staff accompanist for the Cleveland Trombone Seminar since 2013 and has accompanied recitals by members of the Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Akron Symphony Orchestra and Canton Symphony. She maintains a private piano studio in Stow. Yasutake holds a bachelor’s degree in trombone performance from Northwestern University.
