Ridgewood Local Schools BOE meets
WEST LAFAYETTE – The Ridgewood Local Schools Board of Education met Monday, March 21 and hired Michael Masloski as the new superintendent effective Aug. 1 through July 31, 2021.
At the meeting Janusian Club members Judy Blair and Irene Miller presented the school district with a Patriot motorized flag to be hung and displayed in the Ridgewood High School gymnasium. The flag measures 12 feet by 18 feet in size. The club was thanked for its many years of continuous support for Ridgewood Local Schools and the community.
During the meeting the following teams, students, coaches and advisors also were recognized for their achievements.
Vocational
- Hayden Davis: Third place at the AG Skills Contest

- Colton Bethel: State Qualifier, IVC Wrestler of the Year, IVC Individual Champion
- Kyle Bethel: District Qualifier and IVC Individual Champion

- Audrey Tingle: First Team All Ohio, Player of the Year District 5, First Team District 5, Co-Player of the Year East District, First Team East District, First Team IVC, and 1,000 Career Points, and Ridgewood Season Records for Points, Assists and Steals
- Kaitlyn Finton: Second Team District 5, Third Team East District, Second Team IVC, and Recipient of District 5 Scholarship Award
- Morgan McDorman: Honorable Mention IVC and District 5
Boys Basketball
- Keith Leindecker: First Team IVC
- Braeden Smith: Honorable Mention IVC
Ridgewood Concert Choir
Superior Rating: Ohio Music Education Association, Large Group Contest on March 4, (Straight Superiors from all judges). This rating qualifies the choir to compete at the State Level at the end of April. The chorale participated in the Nordonia Acapella Festival, where they did two sessions with a very famous Acapella group called VoicePlay. This group had many complimentary things to say about the RHS chorale.
Eighth grade boys’ basketball team
- The eighth grade boys’ basketball team has gone undefeated for the second straight year and was IVC Champions.
The next board of education meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 18, in the administration building at 301 S. Oak St.
