Vendor Update

Flying Pig Farm

As spring rounds the corner so will the ticks, flies and mosquitoes! We’ve made a new batch of all natural repellant so you’ll be ready. We use Walter’s Bug Spray on ourselves, our toddler, our animals and even spray it on our barn walls to deter flies. We have 3 sizes available to meet your needs – 4, 8 and 32 oz. We also restocked our red raspberry jam along with blueberry scones and blueberry, cherry and blackberry pies.

Loveridge House

Good morning Local Bounty Shoppers,
Peanut butter is a protein powerhouse with 8 grams of protein in just 2 tablespoons. It also contains phytosterols which are compounds that help keep good HDL and the bad LDL at the right levels.
One of my favorite snacks is to take a slice of bread, cover it with peanut butter and then thin slices of Apple.
An added touch is to pour a little bit of raw honey over the top of the apples. Yum yum!!!
We restocked the shelves this past Friday so the stock is full and fresh.
We also plan on setting up as a vendor at the Earth Day show at the fairgrounds on April 23rd. Hope to see some of our Local Bounty customers at that show from 12:00-5:00.
Thanks everyone for your support.

Keene Creek Farm

It has been a few weeks since we’ve had an update – our apologies. But, the three kid rodeo we have going on right now is keeping us so very busy. We have a new litter of piglets on the ground – momma had 8 and all are doing really well. This is by far the cutest litter we’ve had. Almost all of them have some sort of marking on them – our favorite is a little gilt (girl) – she is mostly white, but has a black rump and a huge black patch over her left eye and ear. We have to apologize for the delay in getting ham loaf into Local Bounty too. It is now ready at the butcher shop, we just have to go pick it up and bring it home. We will post on our facebook page when it is ready. Our farm products will be featured at an upcoming Tasting Night at Local Bounty. Join us on April 28 from6-7 p.m. and we will share with you some of our favorite ways to use our pastured pork products. The whole family will likely be on site so you can talk to all of us about our farming practices. Many thanks again for your continued support.

Bob’s Pickle Patch/ Verda’s Hens

There are lots of eggs at Local Bounty today.  Remember those winter days when you wanted eggs and came up short?  Well it’s feasting time now.  Egg noodles, omelets, hard boiled eggs, pudding, angel food cake from scratch, deviled eggs — you can have them all!  These fresh eggs will keep well, too.

We have been moving chicken fences so they will have lots more grass and bugs to eat.  Bob is thinking about fencing in the front yard so he doesn’t have to mow.  That’s fine with me — just no chickies on the front porch or in the flower beds.
