Coshocton County Board of Realtors presents four $1,000 scholarships

COSHOCTON – The Coshocton County Board of Realtors were proud to help four area high school graduates continue their education.
Skylar Hasseman, Kathryn Chittum, Kylie Art and Jade Poorman each received a $1,000 scholarship from the organization.
“They’ve excelled with their studies and with extracurricular activities,” said Jim Nelson, president of the Coshocton County Board of Realtors. “That says a lot about them and their moms and dads.”
The scholarship recipients were invited to the board of realtors’ luncheon on June 9, to share a little bit about their future goals.
Chittum, who graduated from the Coshocton County Career Center, plans to attend Kent State Tuscarawas and earn her associates degree in early childhood education. She then wants to transfer to the Kent State main branch and also attend Muskingum University.
“I hope to end up at a school in Frankfurt or Berlin, Germany,” Chittum said.
Art, a graduate of Ridgewood High School, also will continue her education at Kent State. Her plans are to attend the main campus and study exercise science, pre-physical and occupational therapy. Art then plans to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy.
Kent State also is getting Coshocton High School’s Skylar Hasseman who will major in dance and minor in business at the main branch.
“I want to own my own (dance) studio and hopefully be just like Miss Jennifer,” she said.
Poorman was unable to attend the luncheon, but it was shared that the River View High School graduate plans to attend the University of Alabama.
The board of realtors’ scholarship selection committee included Stephanie Marie Conrad, Christi Olinger, Heather LePage, Curt Crouso, Sheila Shingleton, Anita Angelo, Jeff Eikenberry, and Jim Nelson.
“We had some really quality kids to choose from this year,” Olinger said.
