LoweryFRESNO- Janet Elizabeth Lowery, a youthful 92 years of age, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Coshocton Co. Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 7, 1923 in White Eyes Township to the late Herbert and Menema (Deeds) Hamilton.  She was a 1941 graduate of Fresno High School, and she graduated from Muskingum College in 1973 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.  She married Guy Swigert Lowery on June 1, 1944, who preceded her in death on April 30, 2005.  She was a school teacher at Warsaw Elementary in the River View Local School District for 21 years.  She was a 4-H advisor for Warsaw Livestock; a member of Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, the Coshocton County Genealogical Society, and the OEA Local School Teachers.  She enjoyed raising her kids, teaching school, making bulletin boards, reading, bird watching, Cleveland Indians baseball, OSU football & basketball, collecting poems, bookmarks, and doing word search puzzles.  She loved to spend time with her family and friends, and her dog “Peggy Sue”.

She is survived by three daughters, Coleen (Charles) Fox of Newark, Jevene Lowery of Columbus, and Nancy Jo Lowery of Fresno; three sons, Thomas Lowery of Fresno, Dennis (Nancy) Lowery of Coshocton, and Bruce (Terri) Lowery of Warsaw; eight grandchildren, Dawn (Jason) Martin, Bob Fox, Marcella Starkey, Jamie Lowery, Bret Lowery, Megan Lowery, Bryon Lowery, and Amanda Lowery; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean (Carl) Stein of Fresno; a sister-in-law, Martha (Albert) Young of Warsaw; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Oleen (John) Anderson, and Doyce (Gene) Barr; and a sister-in-law, Nadine (Raymond) Bucklew.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Rev. Dail Parrish officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery near Fresno.  Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
