Vendor Updates

Windy Hill Farm

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. This week we have our stay-soft Peanut Butter cookies, made with real butter, brown sugar and 1-1/2 cups of peanut butter! (Who says you can’t have a cookie for breakfast while you’re watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade?) Also, pick up some White Trash party mix to give to the host/s of that Thanksgiving get-together. Tell them they can put it out during the football game (or they can keep it for themselves as a reward for all their hard work). Lastly, considering shopping small (and local) this Saturday, and all through the Christmas season, as we say thank you for shopping at, and supporting, Local Bounty.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!  Thank you loyal customers for shopping at Local Bounty, and thanks to the One who makes all of the bounty possible.

Our Garden

Our Garden was covered in snow over the weekend with freezing temperatures. We picked in time to save sweet and mild hot peppers and cauliflower.  The cabbage, beets, leeks, and broccoli may survive if it is not freezing for too long. We have some of the greens, but may start running short as they are under the covers frozen to the ground. Still good supplies of winter squash and pumpkins at $0.50 per pound. Try a squash bowl filled with roasted squash and pumpkin or leek and potato soup

Not ready for soup, but want it in when it gets colder? Just freeze the squash, cut in cubes on a cookie sheet and then after frozen, put it in a freezer bag. I like this method because I can use as little or as much as I need and not have to be exact when I am freezing. So stay warm and enjoy shopping at Local Bounty for warming foods for the body and soul, and thank you for supporting Our Garden!
