Betty L. Groves
WARSAW – Betty Louise Groves, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 at her residence.
She was born June 13, 1931 in Hamburg, PA to the late Edgar and Mabel Koch.
She was a 1949 graduate of Hamburg High School. She was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1949-1954 at the Letterman Army Hospital in San Francisco as a company clerk and supply sergeant where she met and married her husband. They then came to Ohio. She worked at Edmont’s in Coshocton and spent the rest of her days raising her family on the farm. She loved taking care of her cows and dogs and enjoyed taking walks to the pond.
She is survived by her son, Robert Groves of Warsaw and a granddaughter, Kaci Groves.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Groves, whom she married August 8, 1953, he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2015. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Allen Groves, and four brothers and a sister.
To honor Betty’s wishes, her remains will be cremated and buried with her husband at a later date in the Valley View Cemetery at Warsaw.
