Superintendent praises Ridgewood school district for smooth early dismissal
WEST LAFAYETTE – The Ridgewood Local School District met in regular session with all members present. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Superintendent Mike Masloski congratulated Board President, John Riebesell who has been appointed to the Legislative Platform Committee for the Ohio School Boards Association. He also praised the Transportation Department and the entire Ridgewood Local Schools Staff for their exceptional response in dealing with early dismissal on Tuesday due to the incliment weather.
ACTIONS:
- The Treasurer’s report was approved.
- Several donations were approved from West Lafayette Lions Club to Ridgewood Elementary School, Pearl Valley Cheese, WenMar Farms, Jeff Drennen Ford ALR Insurance, Crazy Aces Trophies, Jones Metal, Schumakers, Coshocton Board of Realtors and Auer Ace Hardware for the annual Senior Citizen Luncheon.
- A resolution was also approved to accept the amounts and rates as determined by the Budget Commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor.
Superintendent Mike Masloski recommended and Board approved
- A Substitute Teacher’s List;
- Volunteers Thad Youngen for Track and Donna Fadley as a District Volunteer;
- Supplemental contracts for Jason Prater, Middle School Boys Track; Maria Prater, Middle School Girls Track and Jamie McCrea, Assistant Track Coaches.
- An early graduation request from students Tanner Davis and Celeste Van Fossen.
- Invoicing ECOT for the Non-Substantiated Expenses from FY2003 through FY 2016 for $ 296,575.35.
- Approved Patti Rohr and Shirley Smith as Co-District Website Coordinators for the 2016-2017 School Year.
- Donation of non-used books to 501(c)(3) organizations.
Superintendent Masloski updated the board:
- The new Ohio Graduation Requirements.
- Ongoing A.L.I.C.E training of staff
- RHS Media Center renovation plan
- Demonstrated the new look of Ridgewood Local School District Website
The next Board of Education Meeting will be Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.
