Arnold, GroverDAYTON – Grover Arnold Jr., 98, joined his heavenly family on December 24, 2016.

He was born in Coshocton County on August 18, 1918 to Grover and Ethel Arnold, he worked the family farm, sold chickens, and delivered 7-Up, but most of his life was a truck driver. He enjoyed planting a garden, mowing the grass, and eating his wife’s cooking. He loved having friends and family at his home and always told them to come back anytime. He and his wife were members of the North Terrace Church of Christ in Zanesville, Ohio.

He graduated from Keene High School and attended the Helmick Baptist Church where he met hiswife-to-be, Martha Ward who died last February.They would have celebrated 75 years of marriage on December 28th.

Surviving are his devoted grandchildren Heidi L. Arnold of Dayton, Eric S. (Jodi) Arnold of Nashport, and Heather M. (Bryan) Near of Zanesville. His great grandchildren, Evan and Emma Arnold and Isabelle Near, will carry his memories into the next generation. He is also survived by a sister, Lucille Cooper of Mt. Vernon; two caring daughters-in-law, Mary Arnold and Sharon Mozena of Zanesville; and a sister-in-law, Jean Arnold of Coshocton. He was also cared for and loved by many special in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Logan Arnold and Harold (Emogene) Arnold; a sister, Margene Myers; as well as his son, Larry E. Arnold of Zanesville.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28th at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw.  The funeral will take place at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Bill Meaige officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
