Mosier commended for her hard work and dedication

COSHOCTON – Janet Mosier was commended over and over again during her retirement party for her dedication and commitment to her position as clerk of courts.
“She never let her health problems over the last four years affect her ability to perform her job,” said Coshocton County Commissioner Curtis Lee. “I remember at a meet the candidates four years ago she said she wouldn’t step down and let someone be appointed to her position. Four years later she’s kept that promise. No one would have blamed her one bit if she didn’t with the health problems she’s had, but she felt it was her responsibility to continue on.”
Commissioner Gary Fischer agreed with Lee.
“A lot of people wouldn’t have stayed, but she did,” he said.
Mosier’s position will be filled by Camila Graham, who won the position in the November election.
“I’ve worked with her eight years now and she’s more than a boss,” Graham said. “She’s a friend and a mentor. We are all kind of like family in our department.”
Mosier served as clerk of courts for eight years and worked in the office 16 years prior to that under former clerk of courts Irene Miller.

“I have big shoes to fill after both Irene and Janet,” Graham said.
Mosier’s co-workers threw her party on Dec. 29 in the court room at the Coshocton County Courthouse and presented her with a blanket that included pictures of current and former staff members. Friends, family and co-workers also were invited to enjoy cake and punch.
“We are so proud of her,” said Mosier’s daughter Dr. Christy Nicely. “She’s always been a hard worker and Angie and I both saw that growing up. She’s just a special lady.”
In addition to Nicely, Mosier’s family includes daughter Angie Phillips, three grandchildren, her significant other Mel Cantrell and his grandchild.
Mosier was very appreciative of everyone who came to the party and helped organize it.
“It was wonderful,” she said. “I’m going to miss the girls. I’ve always said employees can make or break you and mine made me.”
Now that she is retired, Mosier plans to get caught up on some projects at home, attend events at the Senior Center, volunteer more at her church and just take it easy.
“The office is in good hands,” she said. “Camila is a wonderful person and I know she is going to do a good job because she always did a good job for me.”
