Commissioners sign agreement

| January 10, 2017

COSHOCTON – The Coshocton County Commissioners met with EMS Director Todd Shroyer on Monday, Jan. 9 to discuss and sign the Coshocton County EMS Collective Bargaining Agreement. The full-time employees at Coshocton County EMS met previously and voted on the proposed union agreement. This is a three-year contract effective Jan. 1 of this year. Currently, there are 29 full-time employees at Coshocton County EMS with another two in process of being hired.

A wage increase will take effect the first pay of the year and employees were offered a $500 signing bonus to compensate for a lack of wage increase in 2016.

The commissioners also met with Jeff Wherley of Coshocton County Recycling and Litter Prevention to discuss tire removal at the county barn. Wherley is not satisfied with the service the current vendor is providing and is looking for other options. One option is applying for a grant to purchase a Packer truck for tire recycling.

Tires can be shredded and processed at Grove City, Minerva, and Holmes County. Cost is $2 per passenger tire. The county barn can hold approximately 1,200 passenger tires.
