RV Swimming Hosts Senior Night, Boys Relay Breaks Record

WARSAW – The River View swim teams hosted a tri-meet, and recognized their 10 member senior class at their final home match on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at the Janet Jones Mulligan Natatorium. The girls defeated both Zanesville 128-25, and John Glenn 116-46. The boys defeated Zanesville 88-48, and fell to John Glenn 86-75. The boys 200 Free Relay also set a new school record time.

Individual results from senior swimmers include Kristian Meek, second in the 200 IM (3:38.82), Learke Nordentoft, third (34.38), Maggie Snyder, fifth (36.98), and Zoe Smalley, 11th (40.24)  in the 50 Free, Shawna Shroyer, first (1:15.24), Kenzie Hudson, second (1:19.27), and Nordentoft, third (1:20.40) in the 100 Free, Audree Murray, fifth (6:37.39) in the 400 Free, Shroyer, first (1:27.01), Hudson, second (1:27.83), and Murray, fourth (1:49.74) in the 100 Back, Meek, third (1:46.20) in the 100 Breast, Nate Cooper, first (2:40.89) in the 200 IM, and in the 100 Back (1:09.40), and Zared Tumblin, seventh (31.66) in the 50 Free.

Also winning their events for the girls team were the 200 Medley Relay of Katie Hardesty, Lindsey Ashcraft, Josie Fornara, and Jesse Vandenbark (2:30.03), Ashcraft (31.49) in the 50 Free, Fornara (1:25.80) in the 100 Fly, the 200 Free Relay of Ashcraft, Fornara, Vandenbark, Shroyer (2:09.90), and the 400 free Relay of Fornara, Hudson, Emily Jacobs, and Vandenbark (5:05.12).

Finishing first for the boys in addition to Cooper were the Medley Relay of Cooper, Caleb Fischer, Jake Mitchell, and RJ Hammond (2:03.87), Mitchell (2:24.92) in the 200 Free and in the 100 Fly (1:11.70), Hammond (28.17) in the 50 Free, the 200 Free Relay of Cooper, Fischer, Hammond, and Mitchell (1:45.79), and Fischer (1:17.08) in the 100 Breast.
