Celebration of Life held at Signature Healthcare

| January 27, 2017

COSHOCTON – Thirty-two people who once resided at Signature Healthcare were remembered during a Celebration of Life ceremony held Jan. 26.

“It’s a way for us to remember those who passed on and celebrate the lives they had and the lives they have now residing in a place where there is no more pain and suffering,” said Pastor Mark Brodbeck, chaplain at Signature Healthcare.

The evening included music and scripture readings plus a candle was lit in honor of each person who passed away last year. Some of the candles were lit by family members of the deceased and others were lit by staff members of Signature or Interim Hospice or Community Hospice of Coshocton who also helped with the ceremony.

“Both Hospice organizations helped because they also had residents here who were under their care,” Brodbeck said. “For the staff it’s a way for them to also get closure. At last year’s ceremony we remembered one of our own Alice Grewell, whose passing touched all of us.”

Kim Corder, admissions/marketing director said residents also are invited to the program.

“This helps give them closure too because some of them might have lost a friend or even a roommate,” she said.

Pastor Brodbeck reminded everyone in attendance that life is a journey full of ups and downs, but no matter where who go God will always be with us.
