DSC_0005COSHOCTON – Coshocton Baptist Church hosted its first Winterfest for families in the community. The event was held Jan. 28 at the church and included music, face painting, games, crafts for all ages, door prizes, food and the opportunity to have your photo taken with costumed characters.

“We wanted to show the community what we do here and what we have available,” said Barb Mathias, who initiated the idea. “I’d like to see this happen again. I think it’s been going great. We’ve had a lot of people and they’ve all seemed to have had a good time.”

Pictured at top is Jay Wilson, 2 ½, who posed for a quick picture with The Cat in the Hat and at the bottom is Ava Moody, 1 ½, who made up her own game while enjoying fun activities at the Coshocton Baptist Church’s first Winterfest.

I started my journalism career in 2002 with a daily newspaper chain. After various stops with them, I am happy to be back home! I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University. I also earned several awards while working for daily papers, including being honored by Coshocton County’s veterans for the stories I wrote about them. I am honored and ready to once again shine a positive light on Coshocton County. I also am the proud mother of a little girl named Sophia!
