Coshocton Foundation awards 14 grants

COSHOCTON – The Distribution Committee of the Coshocton Foundation met recently and awarded 14 grants totaling $80,000 to various community organizations. The grants awarded include:

  • $18,000 to Coshocton City Schools to assist in the Planetarium restoration and upgrading project at CHS
  • $12,500 to River View Local Schools to assist in providing support for the Coshocton County Alternative School
  • $10,000 to the Clary Garden Foundation for underground electric wiring to allow for trailside lighting for the upper trail
  • $10,000 to Kids America to assist with replacing facility lighting with more energy efficient LED lights
  • $5,500 to the Walhonding Valley Historical Society to assist with the restoration of the second floor of the Warsaw Hotel
  • $5,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Coshocton County to assist with the N 15th Street Neighborhood Revitalization project
  • $4,000 to the Coshocton County Career Center (as lead agent) to assist with providing support for Trauma Response Teams and Life Saving Equipment to the 4 area public school districts
  • $3,000 to the Roscoe Village Foundation to assist with the construction of a new, user-friendly website to encourage visits to Historic Roscoe Village and other area attractions
  • $2,500 to Girls Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council to assist with For Every Girl Outreach program for At-Risk Girls K-5
  • $2,500 to Walhonding Valley Fire District to assist with the purchase of SCBA masks with thermal imaging cameras to locate trapped victims in a burning building and help in identifying the location of a fire in walls/ceilings and floors

Four additional requests totaling $7,000 were also granted.

The Coshocton Foundation was established in 1966 and has distributed $7.5 million in grants to community organizations from its Unrestricted Fund. In addition, the Foundation has 150 Restricted Funds from which distributions are made for specific purposes.
