Griffiths moving on to play football at Denison University
COSHOCTON – Dallas Griffiths is excited about his future at Denison University where he said he will be playing for a good football team and getting a great education.
“It’s an amazing feeling to get to go there, but I still need to work on getting better for them,” he said.
Griffiths signed his letter of intent to play football at Denison on Feb. 8 at Coshocton High School, where he is a senior and played linebacker, running back and tight end for the Redskins.
“I have a lot of people to thank for being able to get here,” he said. “Coach Woodrum, Coach Fortney, Coach Ballentine, my guidance councilor Mrs. Nelson, Scott Nelson, my mom and my friends and teammates.”
Dallas’ mom, Amber Griffiths, couldn’t have been prouder of her son.
“I’m honored and blessed that he’s my son,” she said. “My heart is full. Denison is an amazing school and a wonderful option for him.”
Amber has enjoyed watching him play football over the years.
“I’ve loved everything about it especially watching him grow into an amazing man,” she said. “He leaves everything he has on the field every game.”
Amber gives the coaches a lot of credit for being great influences on her son and his teammates.
“These coaches are special men,” she said. “They are leaders, fathers, brothers, friends and coaches. They are 150 percent devoted to these children.”
Jim Woodrum, Coshocton’s head football coach, was very happy for Dallas.
“It was a great honor to coach him and this group of seniors,” Woodrum said. “Denison is getting an unbelievable kid. He loves the weight room, is good academically, is a great teammate and very coachable. He is going to fit in well there.”
Dallas plans to major in computer science at Denison.
