Christian school boys celebrate successful season
WARSAW – The Coshocton Christian School Boys Basketball team wrapped up an eventful weekend by hosting a spaghetti dinner at New Beginnings Ministries.
The team finished its regular season with the best record in school history at 19-1. They also were the number one seed in the Ohio Christian School Athletic Association and hosted Kingsway on Feb. 18. Unfortunately, they lost that game and got knocked out of the state tournament, but they didn’t go down without a fight.
The Coshocton Christian School Wildcats tied Kingsway 41-41 and took them to overtime where they ended up losing by one point 47-48.
“This year has been a lot of fun,” said Head Coach Kyle Dunfee. “It’s been nice seeing them mature on and off the floor. We will lose three seniors next year, but we will return three starters. We will have big roles to fill, but I think we can do pretty good next year too.”
They will play in an end of the season tournament in Clyde, Ohio, which funds from the spaghetti dinner will help with.
“The support from area churches and the school for the dinner was huge,” Dunfee said. “We really thank everybody. The boys helped serve and prepare and we just hope we can continue to grow our team and our school.”
