Barbara E. Kissner
HILLIARD – Barbara Ellen Kissner, 55, of Hilliard died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at her home surrounded by family following a courageous journey with brain cancer.
She was born May 1, 1961 in Coshocton to William Walter and Lois Viola May (Lawrence) Lonsinger.
As a child, Barb attended Warsaw Elementary School and River View Junior and Senior High Schools where she enjoyed being a member of the River View Marching Band and was Flag Corp Commander, graduating in 1979. Barb was also a graduate of Stark Technical College with an associate’s degree in office administration in 1981.
Barb had summer jobs during college at AEP Conesville and General Electric in Coshocton. During her career, Barb was employed with School Annual Publishing in Coshocton and later with TSO Management in Columbus. In her work, as well as in all her life, Barb enjoyed what she did and spending time with her co-workers who she counted as friends.
Barb was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed having fun gatherings for holidays, taking trips, and spending time with family and friends. Her smile was always present when she was with those she loved so dearly.
She served for many years as a youth leader at Central Christian Church in Coshocton and Meadow Park Church of God in Columbus. For three years she was a volunteer for the Columbus Literacy Council where she taught ESL Classes. Barb served so many, in so many ways, during her life and her love and care for others was a beautiful example of God’s love.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jon Kissner. Her parents, Bill & Lois Lonsinger of Warsaw. Her children, Anna (Chris) Brown, Kelsey Kissner, and Ross Kissner. A granddaughter, Heidi Ellen Brown. A brother, Jeff (Pam) Lonsinger of Coshocton and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Greg Lonsinger, and an infant sister.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Meadow Park Church of God 2425 Bethel Road Columbus, OH 43220 with Pastor Diane Thatcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. A private burial has taken place at the Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
