Herb society to host high tea

COSHOCTON – The Coshocton Three Rivers Herb Society met at the home of Alicey Lahna on Wednesday, March 15 with Lori Regula as co-hostess, with nine members in attendance. A lavender cheese cake was served among other refreshments. Herb report and role call was given on Wood Betony. Guest speaker was Miss Gretchen Lozowski, a senior at River View High School, spoke on the Coshocton Community Garden program that is located behind Family Physicians and is open to the public.

It was voted on and motion passed to supply a garden herb marker for the kitchen herb garden at Clary Gardens that the club maintains on a regular basis.

Details were finalized on the upcoming “High Tea” to be April 8 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Emanuel Lutheran Church. Tickets may still be purchased for $15 each or $25 for two tickets from any club member or by calling chairman Julia Brown at 740-502-9830. The event will be a lovely presentation of a classic “high tea” with quest speaker Lynn Nelson giving an informative talk on the history of tea.

The next regular meeting will be our spring field trip on Saturday, May 6 to various greenhouses and nurseries with hostess Lori Regula and co-hostess Betsy Alverson.
