Local Bounty Update

| March 28, 2017

Manager note

Good Morning Local Foodies!

Spring is here! It was nice to have the windows open and to hear the birds chirping.

Seasonal veggie in stock: Kale

New at the market: Butter Milk from Buckeye Country Creamery. Also don’t forget to ask for a sample of their drinkable yogurt. My new favorite is raspberry.

Back in stock: Paint Valley heavy whipping cream. Meadow made grass-fed cheese. There are a couple new flavors, Port Wine and Low Fat and Low salt Cheddar. Still offered are Pepper Jack, Mushroom Leek, Mozzarella, Cajun, Tomato Basil Pine Nut, and Cheddar.

Wholesome Valley gluten free chocolate chip and peanut butter. Now available in four-packs. (You asked, they delivered)

Strawberry Hill Farm

Ah, the joys of spring! Seedlings are growing indoors at the farm, and we’ve planted lettuce and onions outdoors in our early garden. It’s starting to get busy! For that reason, Mary will stop bringing chocolate chip oatmeal cookies to the store now, except for special orders. If you want to order cookies you can call her at 740-545-7828 or email her at strawberryhillfarm1@gmail.com. Erin will continue bringing her oatmeal bread to the store. A reminder that we still have some slots open in our CSA for 2017. Look for brochures with application forms in our spot at Local Bounty.

Bob’s Pickle Patch/ Verda’s Hens

Today we have small blueberry pies, sourdough bread, and lots of eggs. It’s not too early to get eggs for Easter. If you want good hard-boiled eggs, get them now and save them. Eggs peel better if they are not strictly fresh. If you must hard boil fresh eggs, just put 3 or 4 tablespoons of  salt in the water.

We appreciate your business.

As always we appreciate your support,
