CCBDD holds prom at Hopewell School

| May 16, 2017

COSHOCTON – Thanks to Toby Collins, Macy Patterson and their amazing crew of volunteers, the gym at Hopewell School was transformed into Candy Land for the Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities Prom on Friday, May 12.

About 45 prom attendees chose to have a fancy dinner of either chicken or steak served to them at the school before the prom. For everyone else, the doors opened at 6 p.m. and they lined up to promenade into the gym as Kristi Timmons, from Unique Videography, took pictures of each as they entered. She also took portraits during the prom for anyone who wanted them.

DJ Bob Casey started the night with favorite dancing songs and the crowd was ready to dance the night away. When the dancers were ready for a break, punch, cookies, suckers and other candies were available. The cookies were decorated by students at Hopewell School.

When prom goers were asked their favorite part of the prom, the answers were varied. Brandon Corder said the supper was really good and his girlfriend looked really pretty. Erin Kennard said she was having fun. Rob Jones likes to dance “The Twist.” Doug Gross likes watching all of the dancing. Seth Fleming had a big smile on his face as he said “Yes” when asked if he was having fun. Casey Jones was excited to be dancing and she loved her dress.
