Century National Bank breaks ground
Century National Bank officers broke ground at the Third Street site of an additional $1.2 million dollar branch office in Coshocton on Friday morning, May 19 with city officials and members of the community applauding the expansion. COSHOCTON – Century National Bank, a division of The Park National Bank, had a groundbreaking ceremony on its future additional site on Third Street in Coshocton on Friday, May 19.
“We couldn’t do this without our customers in Coshocton,” said Beccy Porteus, vice president of Century National Bank. “We hope to better serve them in this location as well as our other location in the plaza.”
The bank has outgrown its current location on Second Street in the Downtowner Plaza and has been looking to expand to an additional location for some time.
“Beccy has done a great job bringing locations for us to look at,” said Pat Nash, president and CEO of the company. “These are the communities we want to grow in because the needs are the same regardless of the market size. We couldn’t support and serve all of our customers in our current location. We are happy to have folks on our team to put us in this situation that we had to grow.”
The property will support a 3,500 square foot building with room to grow in the future if need be. It will be a full-service bank with a drive-thru and ATM service.
“We’ve run out of space in our office with the increase in our customer base,” said Porteus. “This location is very close to downtown and the ingress and egress of traffic is excellent with people coming in from out of town.”
The architect for the new bank will be Bruce Widder of BA Widder Architectural Services and Craig Baldwin from Baldwin Construction will be the builder. The bank is hoping to open its doors in October.
“On behalf of the city, we are thrilled with the investment you’re making in our city,” said Mayor Steve Mercer. “I consider this particular project the nucleus of this particular area of town. I want to thank everybody who was involved with Century for what you’ve done.”
