RVJH boys take first at state
WARSAW – The River View Junior High boys participated in the Ohio Youth Runner Middle School State Championship Track & Field meet May 20, at Dublin Scioto High School and took first place out of 52 teams in Division II. Competing for the boys’ team were: Javen Bice, Zach Burns, Jacob Clark, Brayden Cross, Brice Cross, Austin Philabaum, Brady Philabaum, J.T. Roberts, Nathaniel Stamper and Michael Wagner. The 4×100 m relay and 4×200 m relay both took first place with the team of Burns, Roberts, Bice and Clark. The 4×400 m relay took fourth place with the team of Philabaum, Philabaum, Roberts and Bice. The 4×800 m relay took second place breaking the RVJH school record with the team of Philabaum, Cross, Cross and Philabaum. Nathaniel Stamper placed 12th in the one mile run and fourth in the two mile run. Jacob Clark placed seventh in the 100 m dash, Brayden Cross placed eighth in the 3,200 m run, Brady Philabaum placed sixth in the 800 m run, Brice Cross placed ninth in the 800 m run, Austin Philabuam placed second in the 200 hurdles and Michael Wagner placed 15th overall in the shot put and placed third for the seventh grade division.
