Ida Spring PictureCOSHOCTON – Ida M. Balo Spring, 99, of Coshocton passed away at Lafayette Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday May 31, 2017.

Ida was born in Virginia Township on November 24, 1917 to the late Ray and Gladys Jane (Fivecoats) Balo.

She was raised on the Jacob Balo Farm and went to school in Adams Mill then went on to graduate from Jefferson High School in Dresden in 1935. Ida enjoyed singing and playing the piano and at one time sang over the radio with her sisters, Gladys and Geneva. On October 31, 1936, she married William Dale Spring, whom has passed away. Ida had worked at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Madison Presbyterian Church in Adams Mill.

She is survived by her three daughters Janice (Ray) Hyson of Coshocton, Wanda (Dennis) Belle of Newcomerstown and Wilma (Paul) Hunt of Coshocton; eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Harold Balo; sisters Gladys D. Bell and Geneva M. King; four grandchildren.

Private family graveside services will be held in South Lawn Cemetery.  A memorial service will be held in the Custer Chapel at The Presbyterian Church, 142 N. 4th St., Coshocton on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jonathan T. Carlisle officiating.
