Cover crop walk organized

COSHOCTON – The Thursday, June 22, Coshocton SWCD Cover Crop Walk will highlight cover crop termination and cash crop planting management on local farms.

Attendees will see corn planted into early, mid, and late terminated cereal rye; tall cereal rye terminated with a roller; soybeans planted into terminated cereal rye; corn and soybeans planted into a living cover crop; emergence and crop stands. Farmers will be on hand to talk about the specific management styles and challenges with their chosen system.

This will be a drive-it-yourself tour with opportunities to car pool. The tour will begin at 6 p.m. at Agland Co-op, 23917 State Route 93, Fresno 43824. It will conclude at approximately 8 p.m. and a light supper will be provided at the last stop.
