COSHOCTON – Ken Jelley of Brookfield has entered his 1964 stingray corvette in many car shows around the state, but he has never won Best of Show until Sunday, June 11 at the annual Roscoe Village Corvette Show.

“It just feels outstanding,” said Jelley. “It was worth the four years of effort and it was worth getting up at 4:00 in the morning to drive. That’s how long it took me to get here today.”

Jelley has owned his car for 52 years and bought it when he was 18 years old. He finished a total restoration on this beauty four years ago.

“I took it on my honeymoon and brought my first daughter home from the hospital in it,” he said. “It was with me when I was in the Air Force, and it was my daily car to drive.”

This isn’t the first time the car has been shown in Roscoe Village. It made its debut here two or three years ago when it was awarded vendor’s choice.

Jelley has no plans to sell his car any time soon.

“The joke in the family is I’m going to be buried in it,” he said.
