Butterfly exhibit visits Clary Gardens

| June 28, 2017

COSHOCTON – Rocky Grewell spent Wednesday afternoon June 28 trying to get up close to butterflies fluttering around a special exhibit at Clary Gardens.

Grewell and his family traveled to Clary Gardens from Newcomerstown to enjoy the Norma Johnson Center’s Traveling Butterfly Enclosure.

“We thought this would be a neat experience and it’s not every day you can get a butterfly to land on you,” said Lee Grewell, Rocky’s father.

One even landed on Rocky’s brother Robert who is only weeks old and was sleeping in his mother Jessica’s arms.

“This is pretty sweet,” Rocky said.

Clary Gardens is hosting the Norma Johnson Center’s Traveling Butterfly Enclosure from June 28 through July 2. Participants can enter a butterfly house and experience the world of butterflies. The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The exhibit is free to the community as a joint project sponsored by the Coshocton Rotary Club and Clary Gardens. Visitors will be able to bring friends and family to walk into the enclosure and view these exciting specimens at no cost. Owner, Fran LeMasters, from Dover’s Norma Johnson Center will accompany the enclosure and be available throughout the day for questions and to provide additional educational information.
