Dean Wyler Obit PicUSFlagSunlightHC1311_X_300_C_YFRESNO – Dean F. Wyler, 88, a lifelong Coshocton County dairy farmer went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at the farm, following a 10 year courageous battle with cancer.

Dean was born on May 22, 1929 in Fresno, Ohio. He married Marilyn Wyler (Eberwine) on August 25, 1963; she survives. Together they raised two children John Wyler of Fresno, Ohio and Dena (Wyler) Wuebker and her husband Jeff of Versailles, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Sarah Margaret (Hodges) Wyler, infant brother Don Wyler and infant grandson Grant Wuebker.

Most often he could be heard sharing the many proud moments of his four grandchildren Kurt and Jenna Wyler of Fresno and Laura and Jacob Wuebker of Versailles.

He is survived by one brother George and the late Nancy Wyler of Coshocton, Ohio.

Dean was a two year Veteran of the Korean War and graduated from Fresno School in 1947. Dean was a very active member of the Fresno United Methodist Church where he served as trustee, pastor parish committee, park committee, Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and other various committees. Additional community involvement included:  71 year member of Progressive Grange 2433, where he served as Master, Lecturer and various committees and was named 2016 Ohio Granger of the Year. He was a member of Coshocton County Farm Bureau where he taught 4th grade students about dairy farming at Ag Awareness Day for many years. He was a lifetime member of the American Holstein Association, past member of Coshocton County Dairy Service Board, Honorary Member of the Ohio FFA Association and Versailles FFA Chapter and assisted Ridgewood FFA with dairy judging for many years.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed helping others through church, grange and various farm organizations, serving as a mentor to area young farmers and his greatest joy was teaching his children and grandchildren about farming and his passion to serve others.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Fresno United Methodist Church, 54233 Twp Rd 172 Fresno, Ohio 43824. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 29th 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Fresno United Methodist Church.  Pastor Dan Eggan will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fresno, Ohio with military honors conducted by the Coshocton County Veterans Council. Additional visitation will be Saturday morning at 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Free Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Fresno United Methodist Church, Progressive Valley Grange 2433 or Community Hospice.
