COSHOCTON – William G. Collins, 92, of Coshocton died Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 15, 1924 in Coshocton to the late William G. and Pauline Adele (Brightwell) Collins.

Bill was a 1942 graduate of Coshocton High School and attended Ohio University in Athens. He entered the Army Air Force in 1943 serving overseas with the 8th Air Force-B-17 Squadron, 486th Heavy Bombardment Group stationed in Sudbury, Suffolk, England. He left in 1945 and flew to Iceland, then to Newfoundland, and to Connecticut and was discharged October 25, 1945. He was a supervisor at Steel Ceilings in Coshocton, retiring after 38 years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #761 and the Coshocton Elks #376.

He is survived by his son, Gregory Collins, of Coshocton and former daughter-in-law, Kathy Collins of Coshocton. Grandchildren, Shane Collins (Carlynda) & Lori Johnson of Coshocton. Doug Larrison (Laurie) & Chuck Bussard of Valdosta, GA, and Kim Maltby of Ljung, Sweden. Great grandchildren, Katie Collins, Jared Collins, & Emily Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha E. (Hamer) Collins, whom he married July 9, 1948, she died August 6, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sue Young (Joe), and his grandparents, Charles & Lila Mae McFarland.

A private burial will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Warsaw. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling the arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
