Sophie Faye (Jaksich) Ungurean
Sophie Faye (Jaksich) Ungurean 92 of Coshocton passed away at her home on Saturday, December 29, 2012.
Sophie was born on January 14th, 1920 to the late Rade and Petra Jaksich in Duquesne, PA. When Sophie was a youngster her family relocated to Canton, Ohio from Pennsylvania. She later graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1937. Sophie married Carl Ungurean in 1940. During WWII Sophie was employed by the Timken Roller
Bearing Company in Canton. Shortly after the war Sophie and Carl moved their young family to Coshocton. While Sophie enjoyed raising her children she worked occasionally outside of the home. She especially enjoyed working for the Coshocton County Library. Sophie had many talents but she will be most remembered for her cooking talents.
Sophie is survived by her three sons Michael Ungurean of Zanesville, Charles (Isabel) Ungurean of Coshocton, Thomas (Sandra) Ungurean of Coshocton; two daughters Angela Ungurean of Los Angeles and Sophia Sue of Coshocton; seven grandsons Constantine (Pam), Michael Mark (Kaye), Stanley, Christopher Jai (Sandy), Thomas, Charles and Nicholas; one great grandson Matthew Ungurean; two great granddaughters Karla (Kevin) King and Ashley Ungurean; and one nephew Michael Sokolovich.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
A private funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at The Miller Funeral home, 639 Main St., Coshocton with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. There will be no public visitation.
