Marilyn E. Leas

WEST LAFAYETTE – Marilyn E. Leas, 95, a resident of Lafayette Pointe and formerly of Coshocton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 29, 1922 in Trinway to the late Bernard and Lucile (Sawyer) Lacy.  She graduated from Jefferson High School in Dresden, and then from the Meredith Business in Zanesville. She was an active member of the Trinway United Methodist Church for many years, and a 50 year plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star #157 of Coshocton and West Bedford.

Marilyn married Rolland Earl Leas on July 25, 1946, who preceded her in death on April 17, 2005.  Together they owned and operated the Leas Grocery and Hardware Store in Cooperdale for over 30 years, retiring in 1979.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marcella Leas of Coshocton; two nephews, Dean Leas of West Lafayette, and Daniel Leas of Rootstown; and a niece, Judy Haines of Warsaw.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Lacy; and a twin sister, Mildred Gilmore.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Mark Granger officiating.  Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.  Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
