BPW cake auction results shared

COSHOCTON – Coshocton Business and Professional Women’s (BPW) Cake Auction was held Sept. 23 at the Frontier Community Room on Second Street. Approximately $4,000 was raised. Mary Mason from Agents Realty and Auction Service was the auctioneer with help from daughter Sheri Fortune.

Jones Metal Products “Diving for Nanas” banana cake by Sherry Gunn won first place as most unusual.

Hopewell Industries “Jungle animals” cake won second place. Triple R Stables “Carousel” cake and Rainbow Hills Vineyards “chocolate” cake tied for third place as most unusual.

Chris Sycks, Coshocton County Auditor “Jungle Book” cake by Lisa Daugherty (“simplecakesandmore”) won first place as people’s choice.

Coshocton Springs Health and Rehab “Jungle theme” cake by Stefani Bush won second place as people’s choice. Learning Garden “Lion” cake by Garden Girls won third place for people’s choice.

Gold Corporate Sponsor was Jacobs Vanaman Agency, Inc. Silver Corporate Sponsors were McWane Ductile (CLOW), PNC Bank and Central Ohio Technical College (COTC).  Bronze Corporate Sponsors were WTNS Radio, The UPS Store, The Frontier Power Company, Lity Scrap, Arndt Chiropractic, Jillian’s Salon, Schumaker Farms, Nail City, Wenmar Farms, Inc., Pearl Valley Cheese and Fortune’s Boot Shop/Agents Realty and Auction Service.

Monies raised will be used for the Joan McNeely Working Woman Scholarships for women returning to education, Dollars for Scholars, Buckeye Girls State, First Step Family Violence and Salvation Army Christmas Castle Project. Coshocton BPW also sponsors the young careerist and individual development competitions. BPW co-sponsors meet the candidates’ night with Coshocton County Farm Bureau which will be held on Oct. 26 at the Coshocton County Career Center.

Membership is open to men and women, employed and unemployed who support the legislative platform. BPW’s mission is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. BPW is women helping women.
