Joyce Ann Appis

Joyce Ann Appis, 75, of Coshocton joined her beloved husband Dick at 5:12 A.M., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital Palliative Care.

Born December 5, 1937 in Coshocton, she was the daughter of the late William B. Manning and Eileen Mae (Henderson) Manning-Denney.

She attended Coshocton schools and was employed for over 25 years in the Respiratory Therapy Department at Coshocton Hospital retiring in 1999.

On February 16, 1953, Joyce married Richard Franklin “Dick” Appis who preceded her in death on October 31, 2000.

She will be remembered for her abilities to knit, crochet, and her pastime of playing cards and Bingo.

Loving surviving family members are two sons Mark E. (Renee) Appis of Coshocton, William T. “Bill” (Denise) Appis of Conesville; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother Thomas Manning of Nashport, two sisters Patricia (Edward) Jerles of Coshocton; Sharon Schlosser of West Lafayette; two sisters-in-law Dorothy Manning of Coshocton and Helen Wright of Dayton, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by two sons David Brent Appis, Richard Alan Appis,  a daughter Jonelle Eileen Wright, an infant great-grandson Ayden Patrick Murphy, two brothers George  and John Manning, and step-father Esley Denney.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton with Pastor Ralph Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow at CoshoctonCountyMemoryGardens.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1 P.M., Tuesday, prior to the funeral service at the Free Funeral Home.

Memoriums may be made to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter, 21755 T. R. 164, Coshocton, OH43812. Envelopes are available at the Free Funeral Home.
