Rust Décor has grand opening
COSHOCTON – Last December, Jenny Coffman had a one-day, three-hour opening of her store on East Main Street in Coshocton.
“I had a three-hour opening just to test it out,” said Coffman. “The response was overwhelming. It was packed in here, so we knew this was a good thing for our community and something the community needed.”
After the initial test, Coffman decided to have her shop open to the public one weekend every month. Now until Christmas, she will have her shop open each Thursday through Saturday offering refurbished furniture and cozy home décor to the public.
“My husband loves to go to auctions in different places,” she said. “I love to repurpose the furniture. I love staging the room and changing it every once in a while. I want the wow factor when customers come through the door and for it to be fun for customers.”
Coffman gets her inspiration from various outlets such as Pinterest, antique shows, and home magazines to see what is popular and trending in home décor.
Not only is Coffman selling her home décor in the store, but her daughter, Elle is selling her clothing line at that location as well.
“It’s been so much fun,” said Elle. “It’s a great experience and I love offering this to my community. I wanted to make affordable clothes that make girls and women feel comfortable and confident.”
Ten percent of everything Elle sells goes toward My Social Canvas, a non-profit that provides scholarships for young girls throughout the country.
“She’s having fun with it because this is her passion that she wants to do and it’s great we can do it together,” said Jenny. “It’s been a fun family thing to do.”
Another contributor to the shop is Jenni Darr. She also has home décor items for sale. Cindy Price is also an employee at the shop.
Now until Christmas, the shop is open Thursday, 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Find Rust Décor on Facebook and Instagram @rustdecors.
