Clarks open Otsego Carryout

COSHOCTON – A convenient store is once again located on Otsego Avenue thanks to neighborhood residents Jami and Bob Clark.
Otsego Carryout opened on Oct. 12 and is located at the bottom of Fairy Falls Drive right off of Otsego Avenue.
“People in the area missed having something here,” Bob said. “There is a lot more we want to add to it, but we wanted to get open.”
Jami said they had a company come in and set up the store’s merchandise and what they suggested they have has so far been pretty close to what people are looking for.
“We weren’t sure what all to buy, but if people ask for something we will make a list and try to add it to our inventory,” she said.
The Clarks used to operate Clark’s Bar & Grill in Coshocton and also had Knucklehead’s in Zanesville and their new store gets them back in the food business. Otsego Carryout will sell subs, salads and breakfast sandwiches. The deli also will have macaroni salad, potato salad, chicken salad and pickled eggs. Hand dipped ice cream will be available and so will coffee, cappuccinos, Slush Puppies, brewed ice tea and fountain pop.
“We were in the food business for years and won’t serve anything we don’t want to eat,” Jami said.
Right now there is one table in the store with seating for four, but the Clarks will be adding more.
Customers will be able to purchase lunchmeat and cheese by the pound, milk, and some dairy products along with a few other grocery items. The Clarks also are proud to offer Walnut Creek meats and cheese and Pearl Valley Cheese in their deli.
People will be able to play the lottery at Otsego Carryout and purchase beer. However, right now Jami said they are not allowed to have Sunday sales, but they will be applying for that and to be able to sell wine. Bob added that they also will be adding craft beers and hope to offer tastings in the future.
Otsego Carryout’s hours are currently 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
“Those are subject to change though as we see what the customers need,” Jami said.
