COSHOCTON – At the America in Bloom Symposium in Boston, Mass., Coshocton is Blooming was presented with the outstanding achievement award for the beautiful flower displays and hanging baskets and planters throughout the community.

“This is not just for Coshocton’s population category but for all cities that participated in AIB this year,” said CIB President Tim France. “Thank you to the volunteers, the board and my wife, who took the pictures to document our efforts.”

Linda Cromer, one of the AIB judges who visited Coshocton, also shared how excited she was for Coshocton.

“Congratulations to Coshocton for winning the Outstanding Achievement Award for Floral Displays,” she said. “This award recognizes the best of the best…..the most outstanding floral displays across all size categories. This is a tribute to your efforts and your dedication in providing leadership to improve the quality of life for all residents in Coshocton and all of us fortunate to visit. You set a very high bar for all America in Bloom communities.”

CIB Board members Steve Fox and Dorothy Skowrunski represented Coshocton in Boston this year. They attended several breakout sessions to learn about what other communities are doing in all six categories of America in Bloom. Coshocton is Blooming began in 2010 when Bill Freund, Kerry Rapp, Skowrunski and Connie Miller came together to look for a unique way to help Coshocton improve the quality of life in our community and so CIB was born. Current board members include: France, Debbie Wallace, Fox, Deb Gaumer, Tom Heading, Connie Miller, Skowrunski, Pat Earley and Jandi Adams.
