Union principal reads to students
WARSAW – For the second year in a row, Principal Jarred Renner showed students how much fun reading can be. On Nov. 9, Union Elementary School participated in the BOOK IT! Principal Challenge when Renner read books to students in every classroom, at lunch, at recess, and other places around the school throughout the day. “We brainstormed costumes to go with the books that were already in my wardrobe,” he said. Renner read to the students dressed as a farmer, lumberjack, principal, hunter, baker, cowboy and fireman. “This is fun for the kids and it gets the principals out there,” Renner said. He is pictured here reading, “Wakem the Rooster: Up All Night” to second through fourth graders in the cafeteria.
