Eugene A. Maurer

WEST LAFAYETTE – Eugene A. Maurer, 84, of West Lafayette went to be in the arms of his Lord on Friday November 24, 2017.

Eugene was born on July 4, 1933 in Bakersville to the late Clayton and Verna (Schlarb) Maurer.

He served in the US Army from 1952-1955; after his military service he went on to work for Coca-Cola Company and then went to work for Clow Water Systems having retired in 1996.

Eugene was a member of the Coshocton County Sportsmen Club, enjoyed coon and rabbit hunting and watching his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his wife of sixty two years Evelyn L. Maurer; three children Christie Maurer of West Lafayette, Doug (Betty) Maurer of Dresden and Trina (Dirk) Mathias of West Lafayette; grandchildren Adam (Missy) Sidley, Nichole (Tyler) Shortt, Kayla Mathias, Katie Maurer and Abby Maurer; great grandchildren Bristol Shortt, Daniel Shortt, Noah Sidley, Ruthie & Jeremiah Walker; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Eugene is preceded in death by his brother Ervin Maurer.

Per’s Eugene’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette with Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors.
