Wooly Pig Farm Brewery ready to open
FRESNO – The Wooly Pig Farm Brewery is ready to start serving its traditional German /Bavarian beers to the public.
The brewery, located on a working farm, is owned by Kevin Ely and his wife Jael and operated with the assistance of her family. Opening day of their brewery will be Thursday, Dec. 14 from 4 to 10 p.m.
“We will start out with eight beers on tap and in a few weeks be up to 10 or 11,” Ely said. “After the new year we should up to our full 12. A week or two after we open our four packs of bottles to go also might be ready.”
You can decide what you like by trying a set of four, five ounce samples.
“Our goal is to make very clean, drinkable, yet flavorful beer that is true to style,” Ely said. “It’s going to be unique to us because they will all be unfiltered and might be a little hazy.”
They will have dark and light loggers, fruity, coffee flavored and even a pink beer and they will be served in glasses to complement the style of beer.
“We want to have a friendly, comfortable, wholesome environment that people can come drink beer in, but we also will be distributing off site too,” Ely said
Those who choose to enjoy their beer at the brewery will find themselves in a rustic setting that features wood from on old barn on the farm and surrounding neighbors. Guests also will be able to see the Wooly Pigs that roam the farm.
