Auditions set for musical

| December 29, 2017

COSHOCTON – The final production of the Footlight Players 69th season will be the Tony Award winner “The Bridges of Madison County.” This new musical is based upon Robert James Waller’s 1992 best-selling novel, with a script written by Pulitzer Prize award playwright Marsha Norman and music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown. The play will be directed by Susan Metz Guthrie with Jane Crow as musical director. Marsha Cusin is the producer.

With a soaring score and a heartbreaking story, “The Bridges of Madison County” tells the story of an Italian war-bride whose safe, but passionless, world is shattered when she encounters a roving National Geographic photographer.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m., at the Triple Locks Theater in Roscoe Village. There are parts for three men and three women and one boy and one girl, ages 14 and up, plus chorus parts.

If auditioning, please prepare a musical number for auditions with your choice of a song. A piano accompanist will be available or bring your own accompaniment.

“The Bridges of Madison County” will open on May 4, 2018, and run for three weekends, including a matinee on May 13.
