Coshocton High School teacher receives Outstanding Teacher Award

COSHOCTON – Lisa Akers, an eighth grade science teacher at Coshocton High School, was recently awarded the 2018 Outstanding Teacher Award by the Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools (CORAS). She was recognized on Jan. 24 along with 46 other educators at the 2018 CORAS Teacher Awards Ceremony held at Ohio University Zanesville.

Akers has 33 years of experience. She is an outstanding teacher due to her high expectations for every student coupled with her high quality relationships with her students. She has made an impact on the lives of countless students and the Coshocton City Schools Community, and will continue to do so.

Congratulations, Mrs. Akers. She is most deserving of this special recognition and we appreciate her outstanding contributions to our students, Coshocton High School, and the school district.
