Local Red Cross and Annin help honor Westerville officers
COSHOCTON – The Ohio Buckeye Region of the American Red Cross deployed flags to honor Westerville’s fallen police officers Anthony Morelli and Eric Joering and several of the flags used to do this came from Annin Flagmakers.
“It was a very emotional day,” said Coshocton County Red Cross Volunteer Sher Alloway.
Alloway picked up 720 flags from Annin Flagmakers and delivered them to Westerville on Feb. 15 where they were placed outside two funeral homes and a church where the officers will be honored.
“I didn’t realize there would be hundreds of city employees and first responders at the funeral home today,” Alloway said. “They had a special day for just them. It was very sad and heart breaking.”
Annin flags not used in the deployment were brought back to Coshocton by Alloway. Rogers requested that she store them for future use in our county.
“We always try to help out the community and try to show our support as a company,” Rogers said.
